Madstad accomplishes superior airflow by separating your bike's windshield from its fairing with the patented adjustable RoboBracket system. By scooping air up under the windshield, it eliminates the vacuum normally generated behind your screen which causes turbulence and buffeting.
Your new windshield will then be fully adjustable for height, tilt and depth (distance from the rider). With the windshield raised from the fairing, air can flow underneath, eliminating the turbulence-causing vacuum behind it and giving you total control over the airflow and position of your shield, meaning one size shield will work perfectly for many different height riders.

Shield Size
In order to see which size shield will be right for you, sit on your bike with a tape measure coming straight up off of the fuel tank cap. Look straight ahead and estimate about where your mouth level is. This is where the top edge of the 18" and 20" touring shields line up:
16" shield low-to-medium range: 14.5 to 19.5 inches above the tank
18" shield medium-to-high range: 16.5 to 21.5 inches above the tank
20" shield low-to-high range: 18.5 to 23.5 inches above the tank
22" shield high-to-maximum range: 20.5 to 25.5 inches above the tank
For motorway riding you want the top edge of the shield at about your mouth or nose level at most, so choose accordingly. The tremendous range gives you tremendous flexibility, and you can snap the touring system on and off in just seconds, without tools and continue with just the fly screen (if fitted).
